1. Main Street
Main Street has it all: great food, amazing shopping, and historical sites. Not only can you spend hours exploring the boutiques and engorging on seafood and ice cream (which I highly recommend), but you can capture some picturesque views of this narrow colonial street flanked by colorful storefronts.Main Street forks off of Church Circle and continues downhill towards the waterfront. It is a bustling street that holds most of the activity of downtown Annapolis.
2. City Dock
The City Dock is located at the south end of Main Street. The city dock serves a great place to just sit and take in the views of the water. Many enjoy people watching as families often stop to feed the wading ducks and luxury boats circle in and out of "Ego Alley". The views of the water with the docked boats serve as an excellent backdrop for an Instagram capture!

Walk around State Circle surrounding the Maryland State House to view it from different angles. The Maryland State House was also the Capitol Building of the United States from November 26, 1783 - August 13, 1784.
4. William Paca House and Garden
I love gardens. Whenever I travel, I always try to find gardens. I even wrote about some of my favorite gardens in Europe. So you know that I had to put a garden on this list.William Paca was one of signers of the Declaration of Independence. He also served as Maryland's mayor from 1782-1785.The two-acre garden is true to its original form when William Paca lived in the home. The middle terrace is divided into four sections: Rose, Flower, Holly, and Boxwood. The flowers were not in bloom when I visited but the Holly and Boxwood sections were still very plush and offered a great backdrop.Just adjacent to the middle terrace, lies the wilderness garden which houses the summer house and small pond. A picture in front of the summer house would be super cute, but the grass is taped off given that sprinklers are usually actively watering the grass.

Many of the homes are designated as a historic building with a marker that hangs beside the door. The color-coded markers acknowledge the preservation of these historic structures and indicate the architectural style of the buildings ranging from Georgian to Victorian to 20th Century design.
